Wade and I attended an adoption meeting Monday night. At this point, we've collected information from Bethany Christian Services and Children's Hope International. We are primarily interested in domestic adoption, but we're open to all possibilities. If you have information that would be helpful to us, please pass it along!
Blessings,
Ramona

What an exciting new leg of your journey. This is an something my husband and I have started discussing again recently. Praying for God to direct you to the doors he plans on opening for you.
I have 5 adopted brothers who were all adopted from the State. They were all older when they were adopted anywhere from 6 to 10 years old, but there is a need at every age. There are some benefits in adopting from the state such as you pay no fee, and the state pays you. Also, they provide money for college tuition for the students when they reach that age. However, it may take longer to adopt a baby rather then a child who is over a year. My parents run an organization that recruits and certifies Christian couples to foster and adopt from the state. If you are interested you can check out their website. www.oneheartfamilyministries.org
We will keep all your decision making process in our prayers.

Sort by Title and read the message John Piper preached in February of this year about adoption. Very useful. Ends with a letter to his wife when they decided to adopt their child. Beautiful!

Dear Friends,
I will continue to keep you in my prayers as the Lord lets you consider this option. Speaking as an adopted child, there is no greater way to understand the grace of God and His adoption of us. I remember when I first read Galatians - how we are all adopted, and I remember thinking that if my parents loved me so much to choose me, how much more must God love me to have chosen me the same way.
Hi Ramona--
I found your blog via google alerts for "Children's Hope International". I hope to encourage you in your consideration to adopt.
Bethany has a great reputation for domestic adoption. If you are interested in international, and had not discovered it in your previous web search, you may check out the Children's Hope blog online at www.childrenshopeint.blogspot.com. This blog is a secondary resource to our website and there you may find many of our families' blogs about their experience on our blogroll. Check out the Completed Families for the full picture now that these families' adoptions have been completed. Wishing you and your family all the best!

Hi Ramona,
A mutual friend of our Stacy Jarvis sent me your blog link and asked me to reach out to you regarding adoption.
My husband and I experienced a long 3.5 years of infertility that never resulted in a biological child. However, our infertility journey finally led us to the world of adoption and our beautiful daughter Isabel.
After only 6 months with our agency, we were bringing our daughter home. She is truly a gift from God and we now know why we had to endure all of our pains -- all of it led us to our sweet girl. A Gift of Hope Apotions in Columbia, MO, has a wonderful domestic program -- I highly recommend them. The owner Dewey, can be reached at 573-886-8977. Please let him know that Deborah Nobis sent you.
Best of luck in your journey. Adoption is quite simply the most rewarding and loving thing a family can do for a child. She is ours in every sense of the word. Godspeed,
Deborah
