Today we received our first email about an adoptive situation. Although it wasn't a match for us, we were happy to see that the lines of communication are open! I never expected that every email and phone call would elicit such emotional responses. What an adventure!

Could you please explain to the rest of us why the child wasn’t a match?
EEEEEK!!! How exciting. Things are really moving for you. Praying for this child, and the family God had for him or her, and also for the child that God has planned for your family.
Great question above! Both the expectant parent(s) and the adoptive parents have certain criteria they are looking for in a prospective adoption situation. Some people have strict guidelines, while others are open to just about anything.
Here are a couple examples. One expectant mother wanted her child to be raised in the south. Another parent was looking for a family with no other children. As another example, people also have varying degrees of "openness" they'd like for the relationship (i.e., birth parents involvement in the child's life). There are so many "options" that it would be almost impossible to list them all.
Hope that helps!
yay! glad the process is moving along Ramona!
