I guess I never really bought into the idea that children should spend seven hours at school each day, only to be followed by running from one extracurricular activity to another. Now that I'm homeschooling, I feel like I have my family back. We wake up and relax together instead of rushing around and running out the door. We stay in our jammies and learn as a family. We play games and laugh and get silly. And my parenting is more intentional, our interactions are richer and the girls are thriving...emotionally & educationally!
Homeschooling is not for everyone, but it's been a great decision for our family, one that was made after prayerful deliberation and wise counsel. Resources are plenty, and I have a terrific group of friends who are always willing to share their experience and insight. I'm still new at this, but I firmly believe that if I can do it with a newborn and an energetic two-year-old...anyone can!
