Advice for My Children

Unplugged

It is Friday.  Today I will be unplugged.
I will turn off my phone, my computer, my television.
I will listen to the slow, steady breathing of my sweet, sleeping son.
I will stroke the hair of my little girls, who are growing up before my eyes.
I will hold my children and read their favorite books.
I will color a picture, squish play-doh and draw with sidewalk chalk.

I will walk barefoot and wonder at God's creation.

I will pick flowers and make a crown of clovers.
I will laugh and sing and act silly and say, "I love you."
I will hold hands with my husband and appreciate him.
I will enjoy my family, count my blessings and give thanks to God.
